Class Attendance
It is important to understand that when you enroll your child, we need you to commit to attending regularly and being punctual. Ideally, your child will only miss 1-2 classes for the entire year. Absences and tardiness slow down the pace of the class as choreography and technique must be retaught. We do understand that extenuating circumstances may cause your child to miss more than this. In that event, it may be necessary to schedule a private lesson to catch up. Any absence in the months of April and May will require a private lesson. If a student is unable to attend class, please call the studio (960-6006) and let us know the student will be absent.
Tuition
Payment Options:
1)Pay the Full Year (10% discount)
2)Pay in monthly installments
~There is a fee assessed to tuition that is not paid on the FIRST class of each month of $5. If your child misses this class, you can avoid the late fee by mailing the tuition.
Registration Fee $25 for individual/ $40 for Family. This is non-refundable.
Tardiness Please arrive and be ready for class 5 min. prior to scheduled class time. There will be a 5 min. grace period, after that children may not enter class. Late students are a major distraction to the dancers and teacher.
Missed Classes Refunds for missed classes are not given.
Waiting Area There is a waiting area for parents to use. Waiting room noise interferes with the concentration and learning process in the dance rooms.
Recital
Tentative date is May 19, 2012
Costumes: The cost depends on the class and how many dances. Each student pays a $35 costume deposit (due in November). The remainder is due in January.
Each family receives 1 free ticket.
We will also have a professional photographer and a videographer, it is up to you if you would like to purchase those.
Dress Code
Solid black leotard. Please no attached skirts, glitter or sequins.
Pink dance tights.
Ballet: Pink ballet slippers:Level III ballet and up, split sole ballet shoes required
Jazz: Tan split sole jazz shoes
Tap: Tan tap shoes *Absolutely no tap shoes from Payless, Walmart or Target. We do not know what they are made of and tap shoes leave a black mess that is close to impossible to clean.
For pointe class: never buy shoes without consulting Miss Heather first.
In order to provide proper training and to correct body alignment, clothing (baggy and fitted) such as tee shirts, shorts (of any kind), skirts, pants, etc. will not be allowed in class.
All dancers (ages 5 and up) MUST have their hair neatly pinned and secured up off their necks in an acceptable ballet bun, braid or twist. For ages 3 and 4, ponytails are acceptable.
No underwear should be worn under your leotard and tights! Tights act as underwear. Also they stick out from under the leotard and it doesn't look nice and is distracting.
